PM Modi Emphasizes Humanitarian Aspect of Ukraine War, Pledges India’s Support at G7 Summit”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the significance of the ongoing Ukraine war, stating that it extends beyond mere economic and political concerns to encompass a fundamental matter of humanity. Speaking after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Hiroshima, their first encounter since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict last year, PM Modi expressed his deep concern for the global implications of the situation. He pledged India’s commitment to contribute all possible efforts to bring an end to the hostilities.

The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Zelensky took place on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan. This summit serves as a platform for world leaders to address pressing issues and foster international cooperation. Arriving in Hiroshima on Friday, Prime Minister Modi embarked on a three-nation tour, which will also include visits to Papua New Guinea and Australia.

It is noteworthy that President Zelensky, like PM Modi, has been invited to attend the G7 summit by Japan, the current chair of this influential group. The participation of both leaders underscores the global significance and urgency of resolving the Ukraine conflict.

By recognizing the Ukraine war as a matter of humanity, Prime Minister Modi highlights the need for collective efforts to address the crisis. This approach emphasizes the moral imperative to prioritize human lives over economic and political interests. The Indian government’s commitment to supporting peace initiatives demonstrates their dedication to resolving conflicts and fostering global stability.
